Mathematics

In mathematics classes, you'll often find a rule
That states that when you add one and one,
You'll most certainly get two.

And then in real life, sometimes you'll see
That when you add one and one,
There's a slim chance that you'll get three.

Now, I'm glad that in my house,
We follow the convention
Of always listening to the laws of mathematics,
And all entailed by that invention.

But I wouldn't mind, at times,
If there was a floating point error,
And what should have evaluated to two
Would give the unready terror.
