What is a day, but 24 hours?
And a pedal, just the dressing of the flowers.
And what is a minute? An eternity?
These are the same when you aren't with me.
What is an inch? An acre? A mile?
These are but distances I'd travel to see you smile.
And a lightyear or a parsec, though times these seemed,
Are also distances, as such they're deemed.
What is a dollar? A penny? A ben?
But a way for the people to get what then need when
They're finding themselves low on supplies
Or need to get the object of desire before their eyes.
And what is a heart? An organ, or more?
It's something I have in my chest, but with which I adore.
And what does it do when you walk by?
It skips a beat, and then leaps to the sky.
