Elle Est

After all the work has come abreast,
I think you deserve a little rest.
Though I must say that I'm quite impressed
By your answer to the work your teachers request.

It's good to see you not depressed,
Or even worse, quite obsessed,
Over working hard, always pressed
To eke out that last bit of zest.

A toilsome professor I detest,
Forcing his students upon a busywork quest
And in the end, their artistry repressed
For the price of seeing how far they've progressed.

Were you to class the summer, I would protest,
Claiming that you need not be distressed,
And that I doubt you would be regressed
To take a vacation in your nest.
