Oh, Little Snail

Oh, little snail, the world's not that scary,
Though the world's run by beast who are just a bit hairy.
You don't need to worry about worlds and handbaskets and hell,
'Cause wherever you go, you still have your shell.

You're the epitome of how life should go,
Because you're never in a hurry, you always take it slow.
And you never forget where you've gone, little snail,
'Cause you can always look back and see your trail.

We can learn a lot of lessons from you,
And I suppose you could learn some lessons from us too.
As humans, we could learn to simplify our lives,
And as snails, you could learn to, I don't know, wield knives.

Sure, there are some things you should fear,
Like birds, and salt, and bowls full of beer,
But when the climate is right for being a snail,
Stretch your neck out far and set slow sail.
