There are about a billion stars in the sky,
And I'd give you every one just so you wouldn't cry.
There are probably about a million pennies in the jar,
I know it's not much, and we probably couldn't go far.
But I know that there's one thing I got a lot to give
And that's my love, and with it we can live.
Sure it can't buy food, pay rent, or fill up the tank,
Or be vested in the stock market or earn interest at the bank.
But it's a spring ever running of the stuff of joy,
And I share it with my girl, and she shares it with her boy.
I know it won't get us to the places we want to go,
But I guess that's what the saving of money is for.
